February 1 , according to German media, (Handelsblatt) reported , IBM plans to lay off 8,000 in Germany . Currently, the company has 20,000 employees in Germany . IBM did not comment directly on this , but said the company would continue to focus on innovation and competition , adjust their business models and appropriate staff. In view of the competitive business environment , the company will not disclose details of the scheme .
