Egypt became the largest steel-importing country in Middle East
Xinhua from Cairo on April 23rd (Xinhua Wang Wei and Chen Gongzheng) on 23rd, according to Egyptian media it is reported that the League of Arab States Iron and Steel Federation said in a statement a few days ago, that in the first quarter of 2009, Egypt became the largest steel importer of Middle East. The statement said that in the first quarter of this year, Egypt imported 2.2 million tons of steel, accounting 22% of the total iron and steel for all the Arab countries in import.

International financial institutions through co-financing will provide loans of 90 billion U.S. dollars to Latin America
Xinhua from Mexico City on April 23rd (Xinhua Hu Honglei) the World Bank such as five international and regional financial institutions, recently decided to through co-financing in Latin America and the Caribbean to provide 90 billion U.S. dollars loan to help the region withstand the financial crisis. Loan will be in place within the next two years. According to the Latin American media, the banks to participate in the joint financing, included the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, the Andean Development Association, the Caribbean Development Bank and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.

The amount of Japanese PC shipments for the first time in 14 year, fell below 1 million million yen
Xinhua from Tokyo on April 24th (Xinhua Ye Jia) Japanese Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association published data on 23rd, which showed that in fiscal year of 2008 (April 2008 – March 2009) Japanese domestic PC shipments amounted to 975.8 billion yen (about 98 yen for 1 U.S. dollars), and dropped 14 percent compared to that last year, for the first time since fiscal year of 1994 to below 1 million million yen. PC shipments in Japan in 1995 and 2000 in the amount has exceeded 1 trillion and 2 trillion yen first and later.
