East African tourism industry suffered a strong impact from the financial crisis
Tourism is the third-largest source of foreign exchange in Kenya, following after horticultural products and tea. In 2007, Kenya tourism revenue was as high as one billion U.S. dollars. Data published by the Central Bank of Kenya showed that as a double blow of election riots at the early of last year, and the international financial crisis to Kenya, in 2008 its foreign tourists dropped 30.5% over the previous year, to 729,000 passengers. Although Kenya has taken to reduce the visa fees and measures to step up publicity to attract tourists.

Nepal plans Everest into the service area of mobile phone
Xinhua in Kathmandu on April 25th, according to media reports here it is said on 25th Nepal Telecom said mobile phone signals will be expanded to cover the areas of Everest region, so that climbers can then call at the global highest peak. It was reported that only a few areas of Nepal are still the “isolated islands” of the mobile phone signals, including the region of Qomolangma Mount.

Ford Motor Company reiterated that it did not need government relief
Xinhua from Chicago on April 24th (Xinhua Tan Shusen) one of three big giants U.S. in auto industry, the Ford Motor Company released quarterly financial report on 24th, which said its first quarter of this year had 21.3 billion U.S. dollars in cash, so not need government assistance loans. Data showed that Ford’s first quarter net loss was 1.4 billion U.S. dollars, less than that the market expected. The company executives said that in view of the prospects of good sales, some sales expected to increase the output of models.
