Security Council Sanctions Committee decided to freeze the assets of the three Korean companies
Xinhua in United Nations on April 24th (Xinhua Wang Xiangjiang) the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee of North Korea on 24th decided to freeze the assets of North Korean three companies. On the day the Committee on the issue of sanctions against North Korea held a closed-door meeting. Turkey’s Permanent Representative Doyle told reporters after the meeting that the Sanctions Committee of the Council in 2006 adopted Resolution No. 1718 prohibiting the import and export of Korean goods and technology.

The United Nations the Intergovernmental Negotiating of reform of the Security Council
Xinhua: United Nations on February 19th (Xinhua Wang Xiangjiang) the 63rd United Nations General Assembly convened an informal plenary meeting on 19th, which officially launched the reform of the Council of the Intergovernmental Negotiating. Session was held in the Trusteeship Council Chamber at United Nations Headquarters in New York, and the United Nations had 192 members States represented. In accordance with the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly, the Intergovernmental Negotiating will focus on five questions.

The United States would seek the way of UN Security Council reform
Xinhua in Washington, on Feb 19th (Xinhua Jiang Guopeng) U.S. State Department spokesman Duguid on 19th said that the United States would work with important allies and the countries to hold consultations to seek the reform of UN Security Council to be able to more effectively perform their duties and in respond to challenges of the new century. Duguid said at a press conference, the United Nations to enhance the ability of the United States deal with various international challenges, would pay “serious and careful efforts”.

China news agency in United Nations, on February 19th (Reporter Li Jing) – The 63rd United Nations General Assembly convened an informal plenary meeting on 19th, which officially launched the reform of the Council of the Intergovernmental Negotiating. Chinese Permanent Representative in the United Nations, Zhang Yesui on the same day reiterated that China firmly supported for the Council to carry out reasonable and necessary reforms. Zhang Yesui said that the Chinese side believed that the reform of the Security Council should give priority to developing countries, especially African countries.
