Ministry of Finance: China is expected to have 6 trillion yuan fiscal revenue in 2008
Minister of Finance Xie Xuren claimed in national financial work conference that China’s fiscal revenue last year was expected to be 6 trillion yuan. In 2009, China would continue to implement the exemption for savings deposits and securities trading settlement funds interest income and lower the rate of stamp duty on securities transactions and impose unilateral policies, as well as the implementation of housing transaction taxes reduction.
Xie Xuren announced the 2008 fiscal expenditures in China
Minister of Finance Xie Xuren on January 5 said that this year, China will unify the policies of stated or foreign-funded enterprises and individual real estate tax, urban construction tax, education additional fee, etc.
Xie Xuren said it was expected that the fiscal expenditures of social security and employment in 2008 reached 276.16 billion yuan, which increased 20%; medical and health expenses are 83.36 billion yuan, which increased 25.5%; education expenditures are 158.18 billion yuan ,which increased 47%; the “three rural” spending are 595.55 billion yuan, which increased 38%.
