Egyptian Museum, Van Gogh painting is stolen due to poor security
Egyptian government officials announced at noon local time on the 21st, the capital of Cairo, a museum piece of Van Gogh work is stolen, its whereabouts is a mystery

Culture Minister Aziz held a news conference at noon on the 21st, said that the stolen painting called “poppy”, the original possession of Mahmoud Khalil Museum in Cairo. Shortly after the 21 am opening, the staff found this piece of painting was stolen from the canvas after cutting. Staff said that before opening day, painting is still hanging in place.

Police then entered the museum, notes to see surveillance video of the scene looking for fingerprints, ask all the librarians. Museum surveillance video shows the morning, the visitors enter the museum only 10 people total. Hosni said the museum reported missing, the government alerted airports across the country, the port to take special measures to prevent paintings were smuggled abroad.
