German Minister of Economic Affairs considers that the world economic balance has been damaged
Xinhua in Frankfurt on December 17th: Germany Economy Minister Gross on 17th said to the outside world that he considered Germany as well as the world’s economic balance had been destroyed, so there was need for the Government to implement a proactive fiscal policy by borrowing. Gross said there was no doubt the economic balance had been destroyed, in which case the government could shoulder more debt in order to expand investment. He said that the second economic stimulus plan which Germany could implement in January next year was to reach several billions of euros.

Merkel: Germany Government will take economic stimulus program
According to the Xinhua News Agency Hexun: German Chancellor Angela Merkel on December 16th at the Mannheim Center for European Economic Research (ZEW) for the first time in speech admitted that the government, in response to the economic recession, had not been doing enough, and said that next month the German government was to put more and more economic stimulus programs. Merkel said that if after the new U.S. president takes office, the U.S. goverment implement large-scale program to stimulate the economy, at the similar time the German government would launch of a second economic stimulus program. It was reported that the Government may have to on January 12, 2009 approve of a least 200 million euros program to stimulate the economy.
