Australia in November 2008 permitted on housing loans rose by 1.3%
Integrated foreign on January 14th reported, that the Australian Bureau of Statistics (Australian Bureau of Statistics) on 14th released data showing, that Australia in November 2008 housing loans permitted seasonally adjusted 1.3% monthly, and prior to this economists expected the data with an increase of 1.5%. Australia in November 2008 permitted the amount of investment housing loans fell 6.1 percent.

New Zealand in November with building permits increased by 4.3%
Integrated foreign on January 14th report, that New Zealand on 14th, in official data showed that New Zealand in November an increase in the number of construction permits issued, but the underlying trend remained soft. Statistics New Zealand said in November the number of construction permits issued by the seasonally adjustment compared to that in October, rose 4.3%. And in October the number of construction permits issued after a revise, appeared 19.7 percent decline.

Australia agrees to accept the prisoners at Guantanamo prison

Australia expressed its willingness to receive some of the prisoners at Guantanamo prison
Agence France-Presse reported on December 26th, the Australian media over the weekend through local newspapers announced that the prime minister’s spokesman said: “Australia and other countries were considering the resettlement of prisoners from Guantanamo. Any individual to Australia are based on cases for decision. Australia to receive all the prisoners which should strictly abide by legal requirements and rigorous assessment process.”
