British Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline plans to lay off 6 thousand of people to deal with recession
News on February 1: British manufacturing giant GlaxoSmithKline will announce its layoff plan on next Thursday with 6000 being involved; at that time, the company will announce the latest results of Quarterly Bulletin.

It is learned that the global economic crisis gave a tremendous impact on pharmaceutical industry, so GlaxoSmithKline has to lay off 6000 employees worldwide.

10% of the British staff in Arup Company would be laid off
As a result of turbulence of the world economy, the number of layoffs for Arup UK staff reached 400, which includes the Arup Associates employees in the construction division.

Company spokesman said in a statement that this layoff reached nearly 10% of the staff among 4200 British staff for this global design and engineering company. Its aim is to ensure “long-term health business.”
