Whirlpool layoffs: The world’s largest appliance maker Whirlpool intends to lay off 5,000
According to media reports , the world’s largest appliance maker Whirlpool Corporation on October 28 announced plans to lay off 5,000 people , equivalent to 10% of the total number of employees in North America and Europe, in response to weak demand and rising raw material costs .
