Saab Automobile layoffs: Saab Automobile get the Chinese companies’ financing, and will lay off 500 people
Two Chinese companies, which want to acquire Saab Automobile and make the struggling Saab Automobile get profit in 2014, claimed on Monday that, in the next five to six years, the companies would invest 20 billion yuan ( about 2.2 billion euros) , while they also announced that Saab would reduce operating cost of 1 billion kronor (156.7 million U.S. dollars ) and lay off 500 people (about 15% of the company’s total employees).
TDK layoffs: TDK half-year profit dropped 74% year on year, and plans to lay off 11000 people
Japanese electronics giant TDK Corp (6762) on Monday said the company plans to cut its global workforce by about 12% , which is about 111000 people. TDK also said the company plans to sell its organic LED (light emitting diode ) display business . TDK today announced financial results according to the company ’s two -quarter net profit fell sharply over last year 74% .
