HSBC layoffs: HSBC will lay off 30, 000 employees
HSBC Holdings has announced it will cut 30,000 jobs before the end of 2013. HSBC owns about 335,000 employees all over the world. This layoff accounts for 9% of its global workforce, but it will not be related to mainland China.

Barclays layoffs: Barclays plans to lay off 1,400 employees
Barclays said Tuesday it has laid off 1,400 people , and its expected number of layoffs this year will increase to 3,000 employees . European banking layoffs reached to 40,000 people so far.
