China’s unemployment rate: “Self-deceiving” statistics on China’s unemployment rate
On August 4, in the State Council Information Office held a press conference, Human Resources and Social Security of employment promotion deputy director Wang Yadong, in answering questions from reporters, said China’s registered urban unemployment rate in the second quarter was 4.3%, the registered unemployment number decreased by 9 million people (approximately one quarter of 9.15 million people), the employment situation is still very serious, this year’s goal is to control the registered urban unemployment rate within 4.6%.

Only 4.3% unemployment rate was officially recognized as the “very serious” employment situation, if you do not know the strange phenomenon of China’s statistics on unemployment rate, some people will think this is a joke.

In fact, this is precisely reflect the current residence of the population counting only registered unemployment rate in cities and towns can no longer describe the true unemployment situation, the basic policy guidance to lose value.

This “self-deceiving” registered unemployment rate should be turned into investigated unemployment rate as soon as possible. Unemployment survey sampling methods used, compared with the registered unemployment rate, its survey is more extensive and broad, which includes all of the resident population of urban and rural labor force.
