Zero-tariff imports of 7,000 products will be cheaper fruit
Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming day before and the 10 ASEAN economic and trade minister signed the China – ASEAN Free Trade Area “investment agreements”, which marks the China – ASEAN free trade zone will be fully completed in 2010. From January 1 next year, China and ASEAN are about 7000 kinds of products will be treatment, to achieve the liberalization of trade in goods.

At present, ASEAN has become the sixth largest trading partner of Guangdong. According to the Guangdong Provincial Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department forecast that by 2010, import and export trade volume between Guangdong and ASEAN will reach 104 billion U.S. dollars. To 2015, the import and export trade volume between Guangdong and ASEAN will exceed 300 billion U.S. dollars. Office of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation said that resource expenditures to reduce tariffs on imports of goods, will reduce the operating costs of enterprises so that enterprises can benefit from; and fruits, edible oil prices and other agricultural products will benefit the residents of the region. According to Guangzhou Customs statistics, imports of fruit in Guangdong since the number of ASEAN in 2003 from 113,000 tons in 2008 gradually increased to 373,000 tons, an average annual increase of 26.9%.
