With regard to trade and investment cooperation, the two sides focus on eight sub-topics discussed.

First, trade and investment policies. The two sides on the development of technical trade, small and medium enterprises and scientific and technological cooperation, trade and investment legal system to carry out research and exchange, such as exchange of views. Fourth, intellectual property rights cooperation. The two sides signed a “protection of intellectual property rights on the exchanges and cooperation in a memorandum,” China and Japan will set up a Working Group on intellectual property rights, strengthening of intellectual property legislation and law enforcement experience exchanges and personnel exchanges and training and technical assistance and other cooperation.

Fifth, cooperation in information and communication. The importance of the third generation mobile communication (3G) network construction and technology research and development, open source software as well as software and information service outsourcing cooperation, exchange of views. The two sides signed a “field of information and communication on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the minutes of the meeting” will strengthen the development of telecommunications industry experience and the exchange of telecommunications regulatory policy to promote and explore the information and communication technology in natural disaster reduction cooperation.

Six in agriculture. Cooperation in disaster prevention and reduction of eight is. The importance of post-disaster reconstruction, the afflicted area is cooperation in forestry, the use of post-disaster debris, shock-proof construction personnel training, such as reservoir and dam safety management, such as exchange of views. The two sides signed the “earthquake on the strengthening of scientific and technical cooperation in the field of the memorandum,” will strengthen the earthquake disaster prevention and prediction techniques such as joint research, and promote co-operation related to specific projects.
