ILO unemployment rate is forecast to reach 6.8 percent of global
Xinhua Geneva, May 28 (Xinhua) Geneva-based International Labor Organization issued a report on the 28th, by the international financial and economic crisis in 2009 the world will be from 210 to 239 million people are unemployed, the unemployment rate may reach 6.8 percent for 1991, its highest level since.
International Labor Organization had predicted in March this year, compared with 2007, unemployment in 2009 the global population will increase from 24,000,000 to 52,000,000, and the new report will be the figure forecast to increase from 39,000,000 to 59,000,000.
The report, entitled “Global Employment Trends 2009 update” the report pointed out that the economic crisis on the employment of young people most affected, is expected in 2008 By 2009, the global number of unemployed young people will be added 11000000-17000000.
The report also pointed out that the 2009 to 2015, the global need to create 300 million jobs, in order to meet the needs of new workers entering the labor market and employment needs.
