Textron globally lays off 20% of its employees
Wednesday news, Textron Inc. (TXT) announces that because of the economic recession led to declining demand for the public service aircraft, the company will lay off 8200 people all over the world, which is equivalent to the total number of its staff by 20%.

The company said that this year, the company will deliver 290-300 official Cessna aircraft, which is lower than previously expection, that is, 375 aircrafts.

Last year Textron has delivered 476 aircraft, the company at that time predicted that the company will deliver 535 aircrafts in 2009.

Pioneer obtains 26 million U.S. dollars from Honda and plans to lay off this year
Japan’s car navigation system manufacturer Pioneer Corporation today (April 29) announced that as part of the restructuring plan, the company will receive 26 million U.S. dollars from Honda and plans to lay off this year.

The layoffs involve a total of 5800 full-time employees and 4,000 contract workers, while Pioneer would cut down executives number from 25 to 19 people. As of the end of 2008, Pioneer had a total of 36,925 full-time employees.
