Scandinavian Airlines plans to lay off 3,000 people
News on February 4: Scandinavian Airlines at Stockholm headquarters announced on Feb. 3 that the company would seek six billion SEK for capital investment and lay off 3,000 people all over the world so as to reverse serious losses.

President of Scandinavian Airlines issued a press release to indicate the company would implement a restructuring plan, while this reorganization plan not only would finance more adequate capital, but also lay off massive employees so as to further reduce expenditure.

It is reported that the number of employees affected as many as 9,000, of which 3,000 employees would have a direct unemployment, but other 5600 employees would be broke away in the restructuring process: such as outsourcing, etc.

Local time, February 2 pm (Beijing time at 11:15 p.m. on February 2), Premier Wen Jiabao delivered a speech at the University of Cambridge, but during his speed, he was disturbed by a man. The act of the man aroused strong opposition from teachers and students.

Indian government supports 20 U.S. dollars notebook plan to challenge ASUS Eee PC
India push 20 U.S. dollars notebook program, which had obtained the support from Indian government. This project was seen as the initiative of the United States Negroponte’s “100 U.S. dollars notebook computer” challenges. Intel also introduced the similar product Classmate to echo.

However, children computer have been subjected to the cold-shouldered in India. 20 U.S. dollars Indian notebooks will also challenge ASUS Eee PC. Eee PC is the world’s first low-cost, small size network computer, and no hard drive through commercial channel. Its price is among 200-400 dollars.
