Revenue reduction led a big rise of fiscal deficit in UK
LONDON, on February 19th (Xinhua Chen Wenxian) on 19th the figures of British National Bureau of Statistics showed that from April last year to January this year, the public sector of United Kingdom in budget deficit was as high as 42.5 billion pounds, almost as five times as that of the fiscal year 2007-2008 at the same period. In the meantime, the United Kingdom Government in tax revenue fell 2.4%, expenditure increased by 5.5 percent year-on-year, public sector net borrowing rose to 67.2 billion pounds, are three times as that at the same period in fiscal year.

British Petroleum will pay a huge sum of money to settle pollution allegation
Xinhua in Washington, on Feb 19th (Xinhua Liu Hong Hu Fang) on 19th the U.S. government announced that British oil company had agreed to pay nearly 180 million U.S. dollars to settle the allegation of environmental pollution which U.S. government raised. According to a notice which the U.S. Department of Justice and the Environmental Protection Department issued, BP North American operation will pay 161 million U.S. dollars for pollution control, pay six million U.S. dollars for the relief of Air pollution of the oil refinery of United Kingdom near Texas, and pay a fine of 12 million U.S. dollars.

Petrobras domestic oil production in January hit a record high
Brazilian state-owned oil company – Petrobras on 17th, announced that in January the average daily domestic oil production reached a record high of 1.92 million barrels, an increase of 5.3 percent and the central in the 2.5 percent increase. By oil equivalent basis, the Brazilian oil company in January with daily average domestic Production reached 2.22 million barrels, an increase of 4.8 percent, the cntral in the 0.7 percent of increase. Brazil oil company said, P-51 production and drilling platform P-53 production increased drilling platform and a number of new wells into production in January are the main reasons for the increase in oil production. The two platforms are in day production capacity of 180,000 barrels.
