Japan-US Foreign Ministers on strengthening the Japan-US alliance reached a consensus
Xinhua in Tokyo, on February 17th (Xinhua Xi) Japanese Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone on the morning of 17th with the visiting United States Secretary of State Hillary held a talk in Kungkuan rice warehouses of the Foreign Ministry. The two sides on further to strengthen the Japan-US alliance reached a consensus, and reached an agreement about the United States held the first time of the Japan-US summit on 24th of this month after the new government took office. After the meeting, they jointly held press conference, and Nakasone and Hillary said they exchanged views including the international financial crisis, terrorism, the reconstruction of Afghanistan, as well as the North Korean nuclear problem.

Microsoft new operating system of mobile phone and Gates Foundation will contribute mobile financial services

Gates Foundation will contribute to achieve the mobile financial services for poverty-stricken population
On February 17th, according to Agence France-Presse it was reported that Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his Foundation agreed to donor-funded poverty-stricken population of the world to realize cash transactions online by mobile phone. Report said that Gates would contribute a total of 12.5 million U.S. dollars, aid in Asia, Africa and South America, more than 20 projects. Related sources said, that the current emerging markets in developing countries had 10 million people without bank accounts, but had mobile phones.

The reporter learned from Microsoft the morning news, at the World Mobile Congress in Spain today, a joint of Microsoft, HTC, LG, Orange mobile phones and other major partners, launched a few phones of a new generation of mobile phones based on Microsoft systems – WindowsMobile6 .5. These new phones are expected to be available in the second half of 2009. It was reported that Microsoft’s mobile phones in the lauch had a new user interface and a richer browsing experience, and launched the “MyPhone” and “Windows market.”

Defense procurement budget of Russia

Russian Defense Ministry official said Russia will not cut defense procurement budget in this year
On February 17th, according to Globe and Mail it is reported that the Deputy Minister of the Russian Defense Ministry  responsible for fiscal spending in the Treasury on 16th in Moscow said that Russia would not cut defense procurement budget in 2009. It is reported that this budget will reach to 1.3765 trillion rubles (35 rubles for 1 U.S. dollars). She also said that when the Defense Department to reduce expenses they had three restricted areas, namely, defense procurement spending, veterans and military personnel resettlement housing security spending.
