With 1.47 billion euros loss, Philips plans to lay off 6000 employees
On Monday, Europe’s largest consumer electronics maker Philips (Royal Philips Electronics), announced that because the holding assets of the two companies LG Displays and NXP are suffered huge losses and its television and multimedia equipment sector continues weak, the company encounter 1.47 billion euros loss in fourth quarter (about 1.9 billion U.S. dollars). Philips also announced that the company would lay off 6,000 people.
