ASUS intends to spin off notebook motherboard and graphics card business and lay off employees
According to theforeign media reports, Asustek president Shenzhen said that the company would announce a series of business restructuring plan after the Spring Festival and merge the department resources including the digital family and desktop computers and optimize the human resources in all business sectors.
Shenzhen said Asustek’s notebook PC business would be divided into two sub-sectors, one is in charge of consumer models, and the other is in charge of business models and low-cost models. ASUS plans to reduce the manpower in motherboard and graphics business unit and implement the same sector segmentation strategy as notebook computers sector.
