Graduate Employment; 2008 GDP in China

Graduate Employment situation is extremely grim; unemployment rate will be more than 12%
The majors have the lowest employment rate: art, life science, medicine, biology and agriculture. The employment rate of 10 hot majors, accounting, English, law, business management, electronic information engineering, etc, is over 90%, but these 10 majors’ unemployed number reaches 67,000, which accounts for 30% of the total number of unemployed graduates. Overall, the unemployment rate of college students is more than 12%, which is about 3 times of the registered unemployment rate.

Academy of Social Sciences forecasts 2008 GDP growth reaches 9.5 percent
Social Blue Book is expected to be about 9.5% for China’s GDP growth in 2008. Li Peilin pointed out that the situation this year, the economy development is the basis for social development and the social stability. There are many factors impacting the social economy: one is the snowstorm disaster, the second is the impact after the Games, and the third is the international financial crisis and the domestic cycle.
