Financial Crisis Influence: Palm layoffs, Philips layoffs, Nikon layoffs

To cope with the financial crisis, Palm plans to lay off 10% of employees, about 1050 people
In the face of the global slowdown economy and fierce competition from Apple and RIM, Palm has decided to lay off the employees to cut the cost. For that, Palm spokesman Lynn Fox has been given to confirm, but did not announce a specific number of layoffs. But the report claimed that the Palm would lay off 10% of employees, about 1050 people.

Serious financial crisis causes the Philips to lay off 1,600 people
November 23, the Dutch electronics company Philips (Philips) spokesman said that Philips would lay off about 5% of health care system department in the world, which would affect 1600 employees.

Financial crisis led to Nikon laying off 1,500 people in Thailand
