Chinese and Overseas Fuel Tax

Fuel Tax: China enters into the Era of High Oil Prices
National Development and Reform Commission on November 20 announced that the relevant departments are currently looking into the introduction of fuel tax reform, at the same time, they would abolish the road maintenance fee, waterway conservation fees, road transport management fee, passenger and freight surcharges, sea transportation management fees, water passenger and freight surcharge. Moreover, the secondary highway toll payment sites would be removed.

Foreign tax rates: the highest fuel tax is 300%
So far, there are more than 130 countries having implemented the imposition on fuel tax
The United States imposed 30% tax rate on gasoline, the United Kingdom’s tax rate is 73%, Japanese tax rate is 120%, German tax rate is 260%, while French tax rate is 300%.
