Luxury Goods in Global Luxury Market and China Luxury Market

Global luxury experience “winter”, but China consumption is still hot
Because of financial crisis, the world luxury experience “winter”, so the demand in Europe and the United States is declining, but China continues to be hot. Therefore, the luxury goods giants have a strategic vision to China. Right now, the global luxury good market is in depression, while the data shows in the past 11 months, the luxury goods consumption in Japan and North America has 35% sharp decline, but the Chinese market still increases and keeps 22% growth.

Demand for luxury goods in China has 15% Annual Growth
According to 2007 “Global luxury goods report” from the China Association of luxury goods, it is predicted that 60% of the international luxury brands in China would have their own production lines, and demand for luxury goods in China would have 15% growth annually. Currently, the demand for luxury goods in China has exceeded 60% of the production capacity in Europe; therefore, luxury brands must establish production base in China, which can reduce the labor and other costs, such as freight charge.
